Project Duration:1 year and 2 months (14 months)
The third phase of the Rooibos Tea development in Nieuwoudtville consists of an L-shaped building, which contains the processing, packaging and dispatch areas for the plant. The structure comprises steel portal frames and a reinforced concrete mezzanine floor, to be used for storage. Castellated steel rafters have been used to reduce the steel tonnage of the structure. Both the steel and concrete columns are supported on pad footings. The building will be cladded with steel sheeting and a perimeter masonry wall of 1.8m high.
The construction of this phase started in January 2011 and should be completed by the end of April 2011.
